This Privacy Policy describes how Dayspark ("we", "us", "our", or "the app"), developed by Kemal Cetinkaya, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application available on the Google Play Store.
By downloading and using Dayspark, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Dayspark stores your data locally on your device using an on-device database. This data never leaves your device and we do not have access to it:
- Countdown Events: Event names, target dates, times, emoji icons, colors, notes, tags, and progress data
- Categories: Built-in and custom categories you create to organize your countdowns
- Photos: Background photos you select for your countdown cards (stored locally, never uploaded)
- Settings & Preferences: Theme, rounding mode, today mode, notification preferences, and display settings
- Privacy Consent: Your analytics, crash report, and ad personalization preferences
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use Dayspark, certain information may be collected automatically:
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA): Only collected if you grant permission through your device settings. Used to serve personalized advertisements
- Ad Interaction Data: Records of advertisements displayed, impressions, and interactions
Your Choice: We ask for your permission before collecting your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) through the consent dialog. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
1.3 Calendar Data
Dayspark can import events from your device calendar. When you use this feature:
- Calendar data is read only when you explicitly tap "Import from Calendar"
- Imported events are stored locally on your device as countdown events
- We do not retain access to your calendar data after import
- Calendar data is never sent to external servers
1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Your real name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Location data (GPS or precise location)
- Contacts data
- Health or biometric data
- Payment card numbers or banking information (all payments are processed by Apple)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- App Functionality: To save your countdown events, categories, preferences, and widget configurations locally on your device
- Advertising: To display banner advertisements through Google AdMob. If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized to your interests
- Subscriptions: To process ad-free subscription purchases through Google Play Billing
- Notifications: To send local reminders about upcoming countdown events (you control these per event and in Settings)
- Widgets: To display your countdown events on your home screen and lock screen
3. Advertising
Dayspark displays banner advertisements to support the app. We use Google AdMob to serve ads.
What AdMob May Collect
Google AdMob may collect and process the following data to serve ads:
- Device identifiers (IDFA if authorized, IDFV)
- IP address (for approximate location-based ad targeting)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
- App usage information
Ad Personalization
- If you allow tracking via the consent dialog, you may see personalized ads based on your interests
- If you deny tracking, you will see non-personalized (contextual) ads
- Subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience — no ads are displayed
GDPR Consent (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, we will present a consent dialog (powered by Google's User Messaging Platform) before serving personalized ads. You can manage your consent preferences at any time in the app's Settings.

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Dayspark offers optional ad-free subscriptions (monthly and yearly).
- All payments are processed by Google through Google Play. We never receive, store, or have access to your payment card information
- All features remain free for everyone — subscriptions only remove advertisements
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play Store subscription settings

We share data only with the following third-party services, and only as described:

7. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- All data is stored locally on your device using Android's standard data protection
- The local database uses SQLite with standard encryption protections
- No countdown data is transmitted to external servers
- Export data (JSON) is generated locally and shared only when you explicitly choose to export
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
8. Children's Privacy
Dayspark is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- Ad content is set to the "General" rating (suitable for all audiences)
- The app does not contain social features, chat, or user-to-user communication
- The app does not require account creation or personal information to use
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at the email below and we will take steps to remove that information.
9. Your Privacy Rights
All Users
- Access: Your data is stored locally on your device and is accessible to you at any time
- Export: You can export all your data (events and categories) as a JSON file from Settings
- Deletion: You can delete individual events, all events (in Settings), or uninstall Dayspark to remove all data
- Opt-Out of Tracking: You can deny or revoke tracking permission in your device's ad settings
- Ad Preferences: You can limit ad tracking in your device's ad settings
- Notifications: You can manage notification preferences per event or in device Settings
European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you are protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Important: We do not collect, store, or process any personal data on our servers. All app data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. Therefore, we do not hold any personal data about you.
The only third-party service that processes data in connection with our app is Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data for advertising purposes. Google acts as a data controller for this data.
Your GDPR rights regarding AdMob's data processing:
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for ad personalization at any time through the consent dialog within the app, or by going to your device's ad settings
- Right to Object: You can deny tracking when prompted by the App Tracking Transparency dialog
- Right to Erasure / Access / Portability: Since we do not store any personal data, these rights apply to Google's data collection. You can manage your data with Google directly at Google Privacy Settings
California Users (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you are protected under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. We do not store any personal data on our servers. Ad-related data processed by Google AdMob for personalized advertising may constitute "sharing" under the CCPA. You can opt out by denying tracking in the consent dialog or adjusting your iOS ad settings.
10. Notifications
Dayspark uses local notifications only (not remote push notifications). These may include:
- Countdown event reminders (e.g., "1 day before")
- Celebration alerts when an event arrives ("Today!")
You can customize reminders per event during creation/editing, or disable all notifications in your device's notification settings. No notification data is sent to external servers.
11. International Data Transfers
Your app data remains on your device. However, data shared with Google AdMob (device identifiers, ad interactions) may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates. These transfers are governed by Google's data processing terms and comply with applicable data protection regulations.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by:
- Posting the updated policy on this page
- Updating the "Effective date" at the top
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
